Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy is seeking a part-time Athletic Trainer to work with our student-athletes during practices and games. The Athletic Trainer will report directly to the Director of Athletics and will be responsible for evaluating, treating, and preventing athletic injuries. They will work closely with coaches, parents, and medical professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of our student-athletes.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide preventative and rehabilitative care to student-athletes
- Evaluate and treat athletic injuries
- Develop and implement injury prevention programs
- Manage and maintain athletic training equipment and supplies
- Communicate effectively with coaches, parents, and medical professionals
- Keep accurate medical records and document injuries
- Follow all local, state, and national regulations and guidelines for athletic training
- Attend all home practices and games
- Travel with teams for away games as needed (limited)
- Ensure that students have submitted appropriate preseason sports med forms
- Educate student-athletes, coaches, and teams in general wellness and injury prevention
- Serve as athletic administrator on duty when needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited athletic training program
- Valid verification from the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
- Valid state license to practice as a certified athletic trainer within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Valid CPR certification
- Ability to communicate effectively with coaches, parents, and medical professionals
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
2024-25 Dates: Monday, January 27 through Thursday, May 15, 2025
Typical Hours
- Hours are in the 2-7 PM window, Mondays-Thursday.
- All Fridays are off.
- Limited weekends: 2 Saturday nights (basketball); some Sunday morning practices (2 in the winter, up to 10 in the spring).
