We are seeking an English educator with depth and breadth of content expertise to team with our English Department and Middle School Academy Team to teach 6th- and 7th-grade English. Potential candidates must be prepared to work on grade-level teams; in particular, they must be enthusiastic about teaching middle school English. Applicants should have experience with student-centered educational practices, a broad array of assessment strategies, and be comfortable teaching learners at all levels. Applicants are expected to be proficient in various forms of communication and instructional technology and to have experience in service-oriented and project-based learning. Applicants will also be expected to be involved with co-curricular activities and/or mentoring students. A teacher in this role would be expected to design and implement multidimensional, collaborative, and differentiated learning experiences, while bringing an empathetic mindset to the learning process.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (required); B.A. in English preferred
Master’s Degree in English or Education (preferred)
Certification in Secondary English (preferred) with the ability to teach multiple grade levels
3+ Years of teaching experience (preferred)
Current (dated within a year) clearances (required)
