Description of Opportunity
Over the past several years, La Salle College High School has invited professionals in specific academic areas to bring their passion and expertise to our campus to enhance our curricular offerings, elevate the relevance and hands-on learning experiences for our students, and serve as collaborative partners for our faculty. A Professional in Residence at La Salle is primarily responsible for delivering engaging and challenging instruction in a dynamic learning environment. The teaching schedule is typically moldable to fit around a part-time teacher’s needs.
We are currently looking for a Professional in Residence to cover three types of courses: Networking, Mobile App Development, and Introduction to Programming. Versatility in teaching other courses in our Innovation and Design curriculum is desirable but not required.

Key Responsibilities
· Develop and deliver lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation.
· A curriculum is established, but we encourage our professionals in residence to offer input and recommendations on how to enhance it.
· Participate in departmental meetings and school-wide professional development activities when applicable and available.
Qualifications
· A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field
· Professional experience in area of expertise
· Scheduling flexibility to teach at the same time each day or every other day. The number of classes can vary depending on the position.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to inspire and engage students
· Adaptability and a growth mindset regarding teacher training, especially within the context of the Lasallian educational mission.

PRIMARY ROLES:
La Salle College High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher of English who is passionate about student engagement, active learning, the promotion of critical reading, thinking and writing, and developing communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation teaching English, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a creative approach to teaching. The successful candidate will be able to teach the content effectively and, in the spirit of our Lasallian Catholic context, connect with adolescent young men in positive and meaningful ways. Lasallian education is about “teaching minds and touching hearts”. Our teachers inspire and shape the lives of our students through their interactions both in and outside of the classroom.

· Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
· Teaching experience in secondary education highly preferred.
· Teaching certificate in secondary English instruction preferred but not required.
