The Waldorf School of Philadelphia seeks a temporary school counselor to provide continuity of student support during temporary staff leave. The School Counselor supports the social, emotional, and developmental well-being of students in 1st through 8th grade. Working collaboratively with faculty, administration, and families, the counselor provides short-term counseling support, consultation, and guidance services that foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment. This interim position is part-time, averaging up to 10 hours per week.
Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
Valid school counselor certification, counseling license, or eligibility for certification/licensure preferred.
Experience working with elementary and/or middle school-aged students.
Knowledge of child development, social-emotional learning, and trauma-informed practices.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
Experience in an independent, private, or Waldorf school setting.
Familiarity with restorative practices and whole-child educational approaches.
Experience collaborating closely with teachers and families to support student success.
Part-time.
Temporary interim position.
Up to 10 hours per week, between September and December, 2026.
Flexible scheduling in coordination with school administration.
Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
