Norwood-Fontbonne Academy in Chestnut Hill seeks passionate and dedicated After Care for the 2026–2027 school year.
The After Care Assistant supports the supervision and care of students during our after-school program, which serves children from age 3 through 5th grade. Responsibilities include ensuring student safety, assisting with activities and homework, supporting positive behavior, and helping maintain a calm, welcoming environment at the end of the school day. The ideal candidate is dependable, enjoys working with children of various ages, and can collaborate effectively with aftercare staff to provide a safe and engaging experience for all students. Hours are part-time and flexible; the program runs Monday through Friday from 2:30 - 6:00pm, with shifts being flexible for days and hours worked.
- Supervise students ages 3 through 5th grade during aftercare hours (2:30–6:00 PM - assigned hours may vary depending on availability)
- Ensure a safe, caring, and respectful environment at all times
- Assist with structured activities, free play, and homework time
- Support positive behavior and follow school expectations and aftercare procedures
- Help with transitions (snack time, outdoor play, dismissal, etc.)
- Communicate concerns or incidents promptly to the Aftercare Coordinator
- Assist with setup and cleanup of aftercare spaces and materials
- Work collaboratively with aftercare staff and follow direction from lead supervisors
Requirements
- Enjoy working with children of varying ages and developmental levels
- Responsible, reliable, and punctual
- Ability to follow instructions and school policies
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Must meet school age/employment eligibility requirements
- Willingness to learn and take direction from lead staff

- High school diploma required; college coursework or degree in education, child development, or a related field preferred?

About Norwood-Fontbonne Academy
NFA seeks applicants for potential Middle School Science Positions for the 2025-2026 school year. The Middle School Science Teacher must be passionate, skillful, and eager to invest his/her talents in our Science program. They must establish a supportive and engaging environment for middle school students, work collaboratively with colleagues and parents, and have excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop lesson plans and prepare for the daily instruction program
- Evaluate student progress and provide progress updates
- Identify student needs in cooperation with other staff members
- Enforces school rules and regulations
- Maintain communication with parents, administrators, and other staff members to best serve the interests of students
- Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
- Perform other duties within the scope of employment and certification as assigned by the principal.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Education
- Teaching Certificate in Grades 4-8 (4-6, Science 7-8) preferred
