Position Summary: The Substitute Teacher provides a warm, inclusive, and academically engaging classroom that reflects the values of Quakers. The teacher follows developmentally appropriate lesson plans, fosters curiosity and independence, and supports the social-emotional growth of each student. This position includes integrating Quaker testimonies, such as simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship, into classroom routines and curriculum.

This position is part-time, as needed for the 2026-2027 school year. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in education or related field strongly preferred.
• Significant teaching experience, ideally in an independent or Friends school environment.
• Demonstrated leadership in curriculum design, instructional coaching, or academic administration.
• Familiarity with and appreciation for Quaker educational philosophy; willingness to engage in Quaker practices.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and the growth of all members of the school community.
