Gesu School: K–8 Spanish Teacher

 Full-Time | 10-Month Position

Gesu School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated K–8 Spanish Teacher to join our faculty. The Spanish Teacher will provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction that builds students’ skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing while fostering an appreciation for Spanish-speaking cultures.

The Spanish Teacher reports to the Principal and works closely with the Principal, Vice Principal, faculty, students, and families to support Gesu School’s educational mission and commitment to the academic and personal growth of every student.

 Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Two to three years of teaching experience preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
• Ability to build positive and productive relationships with students, families, faculty, and staff
• Genuine commitment to the mission and philosophy of Gesu School and its Jesuit and IHM traditions

Responsibilities

The K–8 Spanish Teacher will:

• Plan and deliver engaging Spanish instruction for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, including speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and cultural studies.
• Differentiate instruction and implement strategies that support the language-acquisition needs of students at varying ages and ability levels.
• Incorporate Spanish-speaking cultures and Catholic faith traditions into the curriculum where appropriate.
• Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that actively engages students and encourages them to achieve their full potential.
• Use technology and other instructional resources effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
• Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, assessments, and other resources aligned with curriculum goals.
• Assess student learning, maintain appropriate records, and prepare trimester progress reports for families.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and guardians regarding students’ academic progress and personal growth.
• Participate in parent conferences, faculty meetings, staff committees, professional development, and other school activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support the educational mission, philosophy, goals, and MAGIS of Gesu School as articulated through the Jesuit and IHM Catholic traditions.
• Fulfill other professional and school responsibilities associated with serving as a member of the Gesu School faculty.
• Maintain all required clearances, training, and other employment requirements.
