Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy is seeking an energetic and motivated head coach for our Boys Varsity Basketball program in 2026-27. Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy is a pluralistic Jewish day school for students in grades 6-12 that is located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Our team competes in the Friends Schools League (FSL), PAISAA, and the Capital City Jewish Hoops Invitational. This position is responsible for, under the guidance of the Director of Athletics, the leadership of the Boys Varsity Basketball team.
Qualifications:
Prior experience coaching competitive basketball at the high school, club, prep, or college level
Prior competitive playing experience preferred
Ability to motivate and teach student-athletes in a positive environment
Demonstrated effective coaching skills and knowledge of basketball skill development
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proven ability to exemplify the highest standard of leadership, sportsmanship, and respect
Responsibilities include:
Teach the game of basketball at both the individual and team levels
Establish a strong and positive team culture that values leadership, responsibility, and respect that aligns with JBHA’s core values
Serve as a positive role model to students
Positively influence upper school and middle school basketball coaches
Expand the off-season basketball program
Develop competitive and engaging in-season practice plans and basketball programming
Identify potential prospective students and assist in engagement, when necessary
Drive student-athletes to games in team van if needed
Effectively communicate and build relationships with players, parents, staff, and administration
Support the athletic program and student-athletes
This is a stipend position
