The Database Manager is responsible for the strategic management, integrity, and optimization of the Development department's donor database, ensuring accurate, secure, and accessible data to support fundraising, donor stewardship, and institutional advancement initiatives. This role oversees the full lifecycle of donor records, including gift processing, data quality, reporting, user administration, and system enhancements, while providing actionable insights that drive informed decision-making and campaign success.
Serving as a key liaison between Development, Information Technology, and Marketing/Communications, the Database Manager translates business needs into effective technical solutions, supports system integrations, and promotes efficient workflows across departments. The position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

By maintaining the integrity and security of donor information and continuously improving database functionality, the Database Manager plays a critical role in strengthening donor relationships and advancing the organization's fundraising goals.
Qualifications:
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, troubleshoot database issues, and identify opportunities to improve system performance and operational efficiency.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Development, Information Technology, Marketing/Communications, and other stakeholders while translating technical concepts for non-technical users.
Proficiency with donor management systems (preferably, but not limited to, Veracross, Raiser’s Edge and Give Campus), including gift processing, record management, reporting, and database administration. Experience working in a fundraising environment is preferred but not required.
Analytical and technical skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel, report writing, and data analysis to support fundraising and strategic decision-making.
Knowledge of data integrity, security, and governance principles, with experience implementing best practices for maintaining accurate, confidential, and compliant donor records.
Commitment to the mission and values of an independent Catholic school, with a collaborative, service-oriented approach and the ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity when working with sensitive donor information.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
One to three years of experience managing donor, fundraising, or databases, preferably within an educational institution or nonprofit organization.
